Kelby’s Story.
Kelby’s story is probably one of the most shocking we’ve encountered.
He was just a young pup - less than a year old - when his “owner” cut both his ears off because of the amount of ticks covering them.
We cannot even imagine the pain this poor boy enduring and was then left to wander the streets with open wounds for 3 days before our rescue partner, Bali Rescue Dog Squad, was alerted to his state by a concerned passer by.
Kelby underwent extensive surgery with skin grafts to repair his ear areas as best as possible so he wouldn’t suffer a lifetime of ear canal infections. He was also neutered and treated for blood parasites.
Since that time, Kelby was due to leave Bali to an overseas adopter, but that sadly fell through and he now resides at our Paws For Change Senior Safe House where he causes equal amounts of playful chaos and happy moments.
