Tips for taking Instagram worthy pictures of your pup
We all dream of getting that perfect picture of our beloved furry friends don’t we!
It often can be tricky to get that perfect picture, especially if you have an energetic pup, so we’ve got some easy tips on how to take a perfect, instagram-worthy picture of your pup!
1. Holding a toy in front of your camera.
We’ve all heard of holding a treat in front of the camera, but sometimes this can prove quite hard with your puppy lunging forward to grab their delicious treat! Instead, try holding one of their favorite toys, they’ll have a beautiful loving expression, and (hopefully 😉) they won’t be lunging at your phone for their treat!
2. Sleepy pics while cuddling
If you’ve managed to get your pup to calm down after a fun day of adventures, while you’re cuddling on the couch this is perfect picture time! You’ll capture your darling fur baby sleeping like an angel. Another cute cute cute shot, can be your pup giving you a cuddle over your shoulder, but, you’ll have to have a friend take that picture for you, or, set a timer on your camera, to get the perfect picture of you and your doggo.
3. Post - run pic
We all know the beautiful smile pups have on their faces after a glorious run in the park or backyard. If you’re struggling to take a calm picture of your pup, try tiring them out, then snapping the perfect shot while they’re lying in the grass exhausted, but happy.
4. Adjust your shutter speed
If you’re using a professional camera, or even just a digital camera, try adjusting the shutter speed setting. Shutter speed is the length of time that light is let into the camera, if this is less, your camera will ‘snap’ a picture much quicker, this is a great tip for taking any kind of action shots! Most phones don’t have a shutter speed setting, so you might have to download a third party app, but if you’re looking for a perfect action-shot of your pup, that might be your best shot!
5. Editing
Time to show off your creative flair! Edit your background and your puppy to whatever vibe you’re going for with your social media. It can often be the smallest things that make the biggest difference, just brightening your picture, or even blurring the background, all the little steps. Editing a few minor things in your picture can make a massive difference!
